Welcome to the K9 In Focus website!

This site is devoted to providing information and ideas for training your dog using the FOCUS program. FOCUS stands for Fun, Obedience & Consistency lead to Unbelievable Success. Our training system is based on the belief that dogs are intelligent and sensitive creatures. Our methods are based on respect for dogs, an understanding of their nature, and scientific learning theories. We feel that training should be both fun and effective.

The FOCUS program is designed to help you build a strong and solid working relationship with your dog. FOCUS is absolutely necessary for dogs competing in performance events such as obedience and agility. However, FOCUS can enhance the relationship between any dog and owner, whether or not you compete.

FOCUS is the basis for all training. It gives you a strong foundation to build on. A focused dog is responsive, eager to train, and willing to do whatever you want. Training a focused dog is 1000 times easier than training an unfocused one. The good news is that it’s never too late to build focus. If you missed your foundation training early in your dog’s life, you can go back now and rebuild.

We hope you will take some time to look around our site. Check out our Books & Video page and our Workshops page for our latest schedule. Please feel free to contact us if we can provide you with any further information about dogs, clicker training, or agility. Have fun with your training & stay focused!!!!
